Despite being a really rather lame and confused semi-remake of one of the greatest ever Disney animated movies, Maleficent was a box office success, so it’s no wonder really that the studio are going to make a sequel. In fact, I’m surprised that it’s taken them this long. Deadline informs us that, speaking at the Telluride Film Festival, the actress confirmed the news and said:

“We have been working on the script and this is going to be a really strong sequel.”

Well, they wouldn’t need to work too hard to better the first film. We don’t know yet if Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora too, or Brenton Thwaites as Prince Phillip, will also be returning. Nor do we know yet whether she’s playing the Bride of Frankenstein or not, though I wouldn’t be surprised if Universal is rethinking it’s Universal Monster Cinematic Universe at the moment. You never know, maybe they’ll give up on the whole dumb idea. Here’s hoping.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
