‘TRON 3’ COULD STILL HAPPEN

2010’s Tron 2 was no slouch at the box office, bringing in $400 million, but Disney still deemed its take disappointing and, while it did spin off the animated series Tron: Uprising  which bridged the gap between the 1982 original and its sequel, no further sequel was officially announced though rumours did fly around. However, earlier this year, there was talk that Disney wanted to reboot the franchise around a new hero played by Jared Leto – and the man himself has just told Collider that this may still happen.

“It was a huge movie for me as well and I do think there’s so much potential in that world, there’s so much left to be said. I’m absolutely game to try to help in any way that I can bring that to life. It’s something that we’re in discussions about and very much looking forward to bringing to reality. It’s very early days though. Tron 3 is in cryogenic freeze. So, it’s there. It’s not dead. It’s alive, but it’s sitting there, waiting for the right time to move forward.”

I was personally very disappointed with Tron 2 but Leto is right, there’s a great deal of potential in the world of Tron so I’d like to see another go at it.

I’m a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don’t really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly ‘have a life’, I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I’ve always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
