Yes we know that Jamie Lee Curtis is the queen of the Halloween franchise and if they are going to reboot the franchise and ignore everything that’s happened since the original, then you can understand why they are bringing her character Laurie Strode back.
But lets not forget, Danielle Harris, who was just as important to many fans, for carrying the franchise through its much criticised sequels as Jamie Strode. Rob Zombie knew this and rightly brought her back for the Halloween remake (even though she played a different character) and fans were hoping that she may get some kind of role for the planned film in 2018.
Which by all accounts is sadly not going to happen and Harris has been talking!
I’m bummed out. And here’s why I’m bummed out, I’ve done four Halloween movies, and I’m grateful for those movies. I wouldn’t have all of you guys here… if it wasn’t for Halloween. I’m forever grateful and indebted to the Halloween franchise. It’s been good to me.”
“What I am bummed about is… [Laurie Strode] has a daughter. I was okay with it when she had a son… but they’re saying it’s the last one and… she has a daughter. And it’s not Jamie. It’s just kind of a bummer, I guess. I think somebody had said, it wouldn’t have hurt the movie to have Jamie reunited with [Laurie]. But that didn’t happen. We did put in a call, thought it’d be kinda cool even just to have a little flashback… they were not interested. So. I tried.”
“But that doesn’t mean you won’t see me in lots of other horror movies, I’ve got a lot of other cool ones coming out soon.”
By all accounts, Judy Greer is in talks to play Laurie’s daughter in a sequel that will ignore everything that has happened and what John Carpenter is stating “Will be the last Halloween film!”
Lets wait and see!
