For a director who recently said that he was too “dangerous” to do a Star Wars film, it’s perhaps odd that Sir Ridley Scott is in talks to direct a Merlin movie for Disney and is apparently keen on doing it. It’s intended to be the first in a series of films based on T. A. Barron’s 1 volume ‘young adult’ saga, which tell the story of Merlin before he met King Arthur. Usual Peter Jackson collaborator Philippa Boyens is scripting the first film. Merlin of course has turned up in many films including Disney’s cartoon The Sword And The Stone.

Scott has recently proved himself to be a bit of a wizard himself with his latest film All The Money In The World. He had to completely erase Kevin Spacey’s key role, shoot brand new scenes with Christopher Plummer, and re-edit the movie within weeks of release — and yet All the Money in the World seems to have turned out very well according to critics.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
