Well this won’t come as a surprise. Paramount just officially confirmed at CinemaCon that a sequel to A Quiet Place is already in the works, and that directer/co-writer John Krasinski is involved. The film has to date pulled in over $200 million worldwide, returning to number one at the American box office charts last weekend, as well as getting a very good reception from the critics.
Recently, writers Bryan Woods and Scott Beck had noted that they have plenty of ideas for a sequel, so we can only assume/hope they’ll be back. Said Wood to ‘Fandango’;
“It’s such a fun world. “There are so many things you could do. There are so many discarded set pieces, too, just hiding out on Word documents on our computer. So, yeah, there are certainly so many stories you could tell.”
The film’s ending was somewhat open, though – much as I love Emily Blunt – perhaps any sequels would be better off following different sets of characters.
