‘EVIL DEAD’ DIRECTOR FEDE ALVAREZ WILL MAKE SEQUEL….IF URUGUAY WIN THE WORLD CUP!

I don’t normally care two hoots about the World Cup. But suddenly I want Uruguay to win it. Why? Because Fede Alvarez, who directed the pretty impressive remake of The Evil Dead, has made a deal with someone on Twitter: if Uruguay wins the World Cup, he’ll direct the sequel. A fan named Justine Bane tweeted to him: “If Uruguay win the World Cup will u make Evil Dead 2??”.  The director’s reply: “DEAL”.

With Ash vs. Evil Dead officially canceled by Starz, and Bruce Campbell having retired Ash but given his blessing for the franchise to carry on without him and even teased future installments, nobody really knows what’s going to happen next, but many still want Alvarez to follow up his remake.

So let’s all get behind Uruguay. The future of the Evil Dead series could be dependent on the World Cup.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
