Alex Cox's Introduction To Film - just to sharpen the brain and check out new things. Annoyingly the "now we watch a scene from ...." segments don't show time stamps and there is no film reference list to let you prepare ahead of time.

I'm reading Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. It's a very gripping book. Even better than the film directed by Martin Scorsese.
