I've been getting proper stuck in to Neverwinter recently. Normally I ignore F2P stuff as it gets to a certain point before the restrictions set in and progress is hindered lest ye cough up.

But I fancied something a bit questy, and I'm a fan of Final Fantasy XIV, but that's still sub based and my PS3 croaked. So I gave it a whirl. It eases you in gently, getting you used to the controls and systems etc. Before I knew it I must've have sunk at least 20 hours into it and I'm nearly at level 30 with my character. As I chose a character with a sword,it's more hack and slashy than owt else, but it's a very enjoyable game. I've yet to encounter anything that has stopped me from proceeding as a result of needing to pay for anything, and although it's slightly restrictive in some respects, it's a brilliant game considering its free.

I've had the odd issue with the servers a couple of times, but then that might just be my shite Internet. If not, still can't complain as it's a free game.

I started to play the Titanfall 2 Tech Test, yesterday. I know it's early days yet as it's a pre-alpha build, but after playing the 3 modes available, I decided I'd play Star Wars Battlefront instead. It didn't hold my attention and felt like COD with mechs.

I played Battlefront because Bespin is available to play foc this weekend so I wanted to give it a try. In terms of fan service, it's outstanding. But pay £12 for it on its own? Not a chance. I know it's a little ways off yet, but I'm gonna wait for the inevitable season pass price drop.

That's when I turned my attention back to Destiny. I've been wanting to get back in to it again as it's one of the biggest surprises for me in terms of how much I've enjoyed it, considering its an fps and they usually don't do it for me. But returning back to it yesterday for the first time since February, it was like riding a bike. A bit wobbly at first, but I was soon back into it and kicking arse again. I'm still impressed with how good it looks, and I'm super hyped for Rise of Iron. I'm hoping to mop up the rest of the missions before its release.

So yeah, I've had a fun shootery weekend so far.

My broadband gets upgraded to fibre on Monday so I'm hoping I can finally start live streaming. I'm also going to be doing another 24hr gaming marathon next month, and it's going to be spooky themed. Might have to get Resi 4 again. The HD version has just been released on PS4.

WELCOME STRANGER!

The wife treated me to the Resi Origins Collection this week so I've been playing through zero.

It looks great considering it was a Gamecube game. But the constant switching between characters and lack of storage chests really worsens the experience. If it wasn't for that, it'd probably be one of the better Resi games. But I've persevered and I'm still enjoying it.

I never finished it previously so I'm determined to do it this time around.

Those mechanics in Zero really annoyed me. Along with the storyline, which makes no sense and wastes the whole premise of exploring what happened to the Bravo team. I haven't replayed it since the first release, unlike the remake of the original.

Even on easy it's piss boilingly frustrating to have to discard items to pick something else up, only to run back to the room to collect the items you dropped. It wouldn't have killed them to add 1 extra inventory slot! Or have to carry 1 less puzzle piece?

But I still like it!

Well I finished Resident Evil 0! I quite enjoyed it. Shite item management aside, it's as good a Resi game as any other of its time, in fact it felt as much as an homage to the first 3 as anything else, in terms of locations. Mansion, factory, laboratory etc.

I've made a start on REmake now. This time I'm going to be a big boy and play as Chris. On normal mode. Just got past the bit where you encounter the giant snake for the first time.

Recently I have been playing the demo for Dragon Quest Builders and World of Final Fantasy. Both are ridiculously cute, and also pretty damn good. I may have to get them both next.

Damn, final fantasy xv is out soon as well. I'm gonna be jrpg'd up to the eyeballs.

Decided to start a new game on Skyward Sword. I've had it since launch but never got beyond the first temple, as I hate motion controls. I was in the mood for a Zelda so thought I'd play this one because I've neglected it so. I'm hoping once I'm further on than before I'll get a bit more in to it. Although I put it down to the controls for it not keeping my interest, I did complete Twilight Princess, so maybe it's just a bad game!

Skyward Sword committed the heinous crime of having no true overworld, which for Zelda I found to be ridiculous. It's also full of recycled boss fights and repeating text prompts/hints that never stop. The new one looks better but it means forking out for new hardware.
