Julianne Moore cast as a Witch in Warners new exorcism movie

Julianne Moore is set to play an sinister witch by the name of Mother Malkin is Warners Brothers new exorcism movie. Mother Malkin is not a very pleasant person, and uses blood magic (nice!). Jeff Bridges is also cast as the exorcist Master Gregory aks The Spook. The film will be called The Seventh Son and is based on a trilogy of stories known as The Last Apprentice and will follow the first book called The Wardstone Chronicles. The film is initially going to be called The Spook’s Apprentice, however has now been changed. Maybe they thought it sounded too much like The Sorcerers Apprentice and may get mistaken as a sequel?

Jennifer Lawrence and Alex Pettyfer were both approached to star but are both too busy with other projects. Pettyfur was asked to play the role of Tom Ward, a young boy training to be an exorcist in the 1700’s under the watchful eye of Jeff Bridges’ Master Gregory.  Ward must learn how to exorcise ghosts, bind boggarts and contain witches, however trouble starts when he is tricked into releasing the most evil witch in the world, Mother Malkin.

Shooting begins in Spetember in Vancouver.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
