Addison Timblin (Californication, Derailed) is the latest star to join the Odd Thomas movie. Based on Dean Koontz series of books, Odd Thomas will be the first in a proposed series of feature films, which may include the rest of the series: Forever Odd, Brother Odd, Odd Hours and comic prequel In Odd We Trust. Addison Timblin has been approached to play Stormy Llewellyn, the love interest of Odd Thomas himself, and this will also be the leading female role. Timblin will join a growing cast, which so far includes Anton Yelchin as Odd Thomas. Lilly Collins was originally thought to be playing Llewellyn’s role.
The film is directed by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Deep Rising, Van Helsing and GI Joe) who has planty of experience, and Dean Koontz himself is on writing duties. It tells the story of Odd Thomas, a Californian Chef with the ability to talk to dead people. Apparantly, instead of moaning that he can ‘see dead people’, Thomas instead want to do something about it! He goes on paranormal investigations, and in the first film he is helping a murdered girl, while also looking into a forthcoming catastrophic event looming over the quiet town of Pico Mundo. He also encounters a strange and mysterious amn with a link to dark, threatning forces.
Filming begins in May.
