See, I like Keanu Reeves as an actor, I don’t fully understand the hate for him to be honest. I find him a very dark and mysterious actor who, while not the best skilled actor around, does bring a level of intenisty to his roles.
Rumours are starting to spread that he just may be Warner Bros’ choice of actor for their live action version of Akira, the legendary Manga anime. The English language version plans to move the action from Tokyo to Manhatten, here is part of the synopsis:
“the action moves from Neo-Tokyo to New Manhattan, where a biker gang leader tries to save his best friend from a medical experiment that threatens to unleash destructive powers.“
Reeves is tipped to be playing the part of Kaneda, the gang leader, and while no offer has been officially made there is a strong connection with Reeves and Warners after the success of the Matrix trilogy. Other actors approached to star in the film have been James Franco, Michael Fassenbender, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Robert Pattinson.
