Tears of Kali director Andreas Marschall is back with a rumoured stunning tribute to the films of Mario Bava and Dario Argento. His fourth feature as a director is called Masks and post-production is now underway. Here is the synopsis:
“The story follows Stella, an ambitious acting student, who’s been accepted to the mysterious “Mateusz Gdula” school. The founder of the school committed suicide when his very special training method got forbidden because of the deaths of several of his students in the ’70s.
But when strange things start to happen in the abandoned wing of the school, Stella suspects that Gdula’s method is still practiced. And she wants to participate at all costs…“
Looking at the LONG trailer, it is clear that we are in for a real treat with this one, it looks superb and the haunting, hypnotic presentation of the trailer is just incredible. It has all the hallmarks of the classic Italian horrors, with plenty of freakish moments and bizarre characters. I found some stunning images too, so please, enjoy! Sadly there is no news of a release date as yet, but this is now ranked in my ‘Top 10 films I simply HAVE to see this year, no matter what the cost!”
