Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, quite possibly the two biggest director’s on the planet have come together to make a 3D animated movie of the classic Adventures of Tintin and the first trailer has now arrived! With Jackson producing and Spielberg directing, the movie has also got a pretty impressive cast as well. Jamie Bell voices our hero Tintin and Andy Serkis doing Captain Haddock (great choice!!). Daniel Craig lends his talents to Red Rackham, and the Thompson Twins will be played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

The rumours as the whether the look and feel of Tintin will match the superb books has now been answered and I must say I think it looks pretty impressive. I expected nothing less from such talent involved, and never thought for a minute they would let us all down. Now, the film is titled ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’, however the story is actually based on no less than three Tintin stories. The screenplay was written by Joe Cornish (Attack the Block), Steven Moffat (Dr Who) and Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim VS the World). My God could this lst of names get any better!

The plot will see Tintin and his trusted dog Snowy head off on an adventure for sunken treasure. Along for the ride will be Captain Haddock and the Thompson Twins, however, as with all Tintin stories there is danger ahead! The sunken treasure actually belonged to 17th century pirate Red Rackham.

The film is set for UK release October 26th.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
