Blair Witch director wants to make Bigfoot scary again

Eduarado Sanchez, one half of the Blair Witch Project directing team, wants to bring Bigfoot back to horror in his latest movie ‘Exists’. Set to begin filming later this year, the plan is to cast the film as early as August with unknown actors. Unknown actors, for me, really adds to authenticity of a project like this. There is no word yet as to whether this will be another handheld/documentary style of horror, but with Sanchez’s past record, the emphasis will be on realism.

The film will be shot on location just outside Austin, Texas at Spiderwood studios. The chap playing Bigfoot has already been cast, and that person will be Brian Steele (Hellboy, Underworld and Predators). Haxan Films and Amber Entertainment will be releasing the film which has been written by Sanchez and Jamie Nash. The plot follows a group of youngsters who head off to a cabin on the woods and panic sets in as they each get carefully killed off one by one by some unknown creature. Sanchez had this to say:

“The film is the first in a trilogy exploring and reinventing the Bigfoot myth,” Sanchez said. “We all remember the terror of watching such classics as ‘The Legend of Boggy Creek,’ and I look forward to making Bigfoot scary again.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
