Evangeline Lilly will forever be remembered as Kate from Lost, the heartbreaker and one of the reasons the show was always enjoyable to watch. Now don’t get me wrong, I adored Lost, but Kate did make it much more interesting at times! Anyway, she has now joined the cast of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit, which has just completed its first block of shooting.
Jackson is not giving anything away as the exactly who or what her character’s role will be, he simply announced on his Facebook page that her chracter name is Tauriel: ““the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means ‘daughter of Mirkwood’ and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing!”
Lilly is branching out after her run in Lost, and will be seen in Real Steel which hits UK cinemas October 7th.
Also joining the cast will be Barry Humphries, who is famous for playing Dame Edna Everage. In the Hobbit he will play the Goblin King and Jackson will be using Gollum style performance capture to bring this character to life. Supposedly this now rounds of Jackson’s cast, with every character now filled.
You can now just sit back and wait for the films to arrive and we promise to bring you as much news on this monumental epic as it happens. The movie will be shown in two parts, Part one: An Unexpected Journey arrives December 14th 2012, followed by Part Two: There and Back Again in December 2013.
