Poster for Straw Dogs remake looks incredibly familiar

If Rod Lurie said he wanted his remake of Straw Dogs to stay faithful to the original, then this poster certainly feels that way. It could pretty much be the same poster that was released all those years a go, and at a glance you can hardly tell the difference! Just to prove it is a new film, I have included the rather excellent trailer that was released about a month a go. I must say, even though they moved locations, the actually movie does look fantastic and it certainly seems that Lurie is upped the violence and menace and it looks to be taking the route of the recent I Spit on Your Grave remake and Last House on the Left remake with its new harshness.

Starring James Marsden, Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skargard, the film will hit UK cinemas October 28th. I have attached both the new poster and the original so that you can play ‘spot the difference’ and here is the synopsis:

David and Amy Sumner (Marsden and Bosworth), a Hollywood screenwriter and his actress wife, return to her small hometown in the deep South to prepare the family home for sale after her father’s death. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, including Amy’s ex-boyfriend Charlie (Skarsgård), leading to a violent confrontation.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
