The Crow remake is a go, and a new writer is on board!

Whether you are for or against the remake of the classic Brandon Lee starring The Crow, you cannot stop it now for it is going ahead. The nasty court battle between Relativity Media and the Weinsteins over the rights to the movie seem to have reached a conclusion, with Relativity winning the rights. This means that they can go ahead with heir planned remake which is set to star Bradley Cooper as the unfortunate rock star Eric Draven who is murdered, and then resurrected under the guidance of a mysterious Crow. Back from the dead he seeks revenge on his killers who also murdered his fiancee.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is set to direct and considering he directed 28 Weeks Later, this is a good thing! Even better news is that a new writer has been attached. Originally the remake was due to be penned by Nick Cave, however Alex Tse has now been drafted in to write instead. This too is good news as he was the fella who co-wrote Watchmen with Zack Snyder.

Whether the remake itself is actually justified is for the fans to decide, but at least there are some impressive names attached.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
