I will gladly admit to being slightly excited about this espionage thriller from the director of Let the Right One In, Tomas Alfredson. The promise of Gary Oldman back in a major role (to be fair he had a small but important role in the Potter films) and taking charge of a serious, intense looking film is also way too good to be missed. And lets not forget the rest of the quite fantastic cast which includes Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, John Hurt, Ciaran Hinds and Stephen Graham. Released in the UK September 16th, this is definitely not one to miss. The film is based on the best-selling spy novel by John Le Carre and here are those all important details:
The man he knew as “Control” is dead, and the young Turks who forced him out now run the Circus. But George Smiley isn’t quite ready for retirement-especially when a pretty, would-be defector surfaces with a shocking accusation: a Soviet mole has penetrated the highest level of British Intelligence. Relying only on his wits and a small, loyal cadre, Smiley traces the breach back to Karla-his Moscow Centre nemesis-and sets a trap to catch the traitor.
