The Wolverine finds a new director

After Darren Aronofsky (sadly) pulled out of directing the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Marvel and Fox have been on the hunt for a replacement and it would seem they have finally tracked down their man for the job. Step forward James Mangold, the director of some very decent films including Walk the Line, Identity, Copland, 3:10 to Yuma, Girl Interrupted and most recently Kight and Day.

According to Deadline, the new movie will be based almost solely in Japan and will follow an 80’s comic strip where Logan faces a deadly ninja clan. Sounds promising? Well, anything will better than the last Wolverine movie thats for sure. With Hugh Jackman returning, filming is set to begin this Autumn which should hopefully mean a Summer 2012 release.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
