Arnie always said “I’ll be back”, and he is!!! In Jee-woon Kim’s The Last Stand

Regardless of what goes on in his personal life, there is no denying that Arnie is one of the most loved movie stars on the planet. Action heroes have all come and tried to fill hit boots, but none come close. Seeing him cameo in Stallone’s Expendables was a magical moment, and the constant rumours of him returning to acting have been going on for a while now, teasing us. After taking some time out to deal with personal matters, Arnie is now back and it would seem that he has finally chosen one out of the multiple movie he has lined up.

Step forward South Korean director Jee-woon Kim, the chap who gave us such delights as I Saw the Devil, A Tale of Two Sisters, The Good, the Bad and The Weird and A Bittersweet Life, not really the director of choice we expected Arnie to go for, but the one we all secretly hoped he would chose. This will be Kim’s first English language movie, and it will be a big action flick, with Arnie playing a tough Sheriff out to catch a drug Cartel Lord. The film is set to go into production in September, and here are the plot details:

The western is reminiscent of genre classic HIGH NOON as the story follows “the exploits of a drug cartel leader who blasts his way out of a courtroom, steals a car, and heads towards the Mexican border.” Arnie will play “a sheriff with an inexperienced staff who becomes involved with trying to stop the cartel leader from entering Mexico after the two parties inadvertently cross paths.”

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
