Brand new poster revealed for Straw Dogs remake

A month ago the first official poster was released for Rod Lurie’s Straw Dogs remake and it looked pretty much inch for inch a copy of Sam Peckinpah’s original movie. Just the other day a brand new poster arrived with a slightly more unsettling twist. Featuring now on the poster in James Marsden’s eye with the broken glasses is now one of the chaps who cause him to go a bit mental. To be fair, after raping his wife and tormenting them, James Marsdens David Sumner has every right to be a bit pissed off.

The new poster doesn’t really change much, and it is clear from the poster and trailer that Lurie is intending to stay very faithful to the original (although the setting has moved from glorious Cornwall to the Deep South of America). The film will simply be a new and ultra violent version of the original, with Lurie himself telling Total Film “there are scenes which will leave people speechless”. Click on the following link to see our previous stories, which also include the quite brilliant trailer, and the new poster is below.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
