if you didn’t know, the all time classic BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN which was released way back in 1935 and directed by James Whale is getting the remake with Maggie Gyllenhaal behind the camera this time and we now have the first look of Christian Bale as the “Monster” which you can see above!
The Bride! will also star Penelope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening and will be released in cinemas on October 3, 2025.
Jessie Buckley will be playing THE BRIDE.
Synopsis so far is:
“a lonely Frankenstein travel to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.”
