Kevin Bacon continues his roles as a villain in Universal’s R.I.P.D

Now here’s a comic book adaptation I am almost losing sleep over with excitement! The film R.I.P.D is based on a Dark Horse comic written by Peter Lenkov. The film is being directed by Robert Schwentke and so far all the news I have read has been nothing but positive. The only negative so far is that we have to wait until 2013 to see the darned thing!

Anyway, Bacon is in talks to play the villain of the film, a smart move after his quite brilliant return to the spotlight as the villain in X-Men: First Class. Bacon is a great character actor, ad suits the role of a villain almost too well, he appears to enjoy it more than most! He will be joining the already cast Jeff ‘The Dude’ Bridges, Jodie Foster and Ryan Reynolds. Here is the synopsis:

Welcome to the Rest in Peace Department–the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement “patrolling the deadbeat … reporting to one boss.” Yep–THAT boss. Nick Cruz died an untimely death at the height of his personal and professional life. Why did he join the R.I.P.D.? Well, not knowing the identity of his killer has left his soul a bit … restless. Now he hunts some of the most fiendish creatures, hoping for the chance to find out who set him up so he can get into heaven.

Ryan Reynolds plays Nick Cruz and Jeff Bridges plays Bo, the head of the R.I.P.D. Jodie Foster is rumoured to be playing a character named Procter. Expect much more on this as it happens.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
