Its quite hard to forget that Stargate was once a massive film hit starring Kurt Russell. With the numerous TV shows over the years, there are fans out there who simply believe that you can not have a gang walk through that time loop if Richard Dean Anderson was not a part of it even though he was not in the original film, but it seems original creator Dean Devlin is going back to the franchise.
Devlin who was rumoured never to be a fan of the series is looking to go back to the franchise of films that started way back in 1994, a staggering 17 years ago. Speaking to Collider he said these words that have rocked the fan base of the franchise!
“We actually wrote it as a trilogy of movies, but we were never able to do parts two and three,” he said. “So, our hope is now that the series is starting to wind down, that maybe it will be time to actually get to do parts two and three. We’re still hopeful that we’ll get to come back and tell the rest of the story.”
What that story could be is hard to tell? If this plan goes ahead, he may have to rewrite some of the mythology that the TV show created but by doing that he could also alienate the fans all over the world. Does this mean that Kurt Russell will be back also and maybe James Spader?
Its a tricky situation and one of the most bizarre news of the week. More when we get it here at HorrorCultFilms
