Brand new, creepy clip from Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, see it here!

Producer Guillermo del Toro has said that the 70’s TV series this film is based on is the scariest TV production ever made, so let’s hope the film, directed by Troy Nixey, lives up to that statement. I am sure it will as clip after clip have been released, each getting scarier and scarier. The setting for the film could not be better, an old mansion in the country, and I have a sneaky suspicion this may well be one of the biggest horrors of the year!

Starring Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison and Edwina Ritchard the film will arrive in cinemas worldwide on August 26th. To see various clips, images and trailers, click here.

The clip follows this brief synopsis:

The pic follows Sally (Bailee Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. Having stumbled upon the mansion’s hidden basement, Sally starts hearing voices calling out from the bolted ash pit, imploring her to open it. Sally obliges and unwittingly unleashes something so terrible, so unthinkable, that everyone’s life – hers most of all – is placed in immediate and grave danger.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
