First two clips from Rod Lurie’s Straw Dogs remake shows the calm before the storm

Rod Lurie’s remake of Straw Dogs actually looks really good, and I’m not usually one to go for remakes. Starring James Marsden and Kate Bosworth as the unfortunate couple who go through Hell, the film also stars Alexander Skarsgard and James Woods. Two new clips have arrived showing James Marsden’s “i don’t want any trouble” type of character, but anyone who has seen the original will know that being nice and trying to avoid trouble only invites it. The film is released in UK cinemas on the 4th November, you can view a massive image gallery and the trailer here

David and Amy Sumner (Marsden and Bosworth), a Hollywood screenwriter and his actress wife, return to her small hometown in the deep South to prepare the family home for sale after her father’s death. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, including Amy’s ex-boyfriend Charlie (Skarsgard), leading to a violent confrontation.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
