The Wicker Tree picked up by Anchor Bay for UK distribution

Robin Hardy’s sequel to his own classic The Wicker Man has picked up a distributor! Yes, thankyou Anchor Bay who have acquired the rights for distribution here in the UK, the US and Canada. Anchor Bay are planning a brief theatrical run early 2012 ahead of the DVD & Bluray release. The film is based on Hardy’s novel ‘Cowboys For Christ’ and will see Christopher Lee return. We have covered a fair amount on this film, including an image gallery and a trailer, and you can view them all here

Young Christians Beth and Steve, a gospel singer and her cowboy boyfriend, leave Texas to preach door-to-door in Scotland . When, after initial abuse, they are welcomed with joy and elation to Tressock, the border fiefdom of Sir Lachlan Morrison, they assume their hosts simply want to hear more about Jesus. How innocent and wrong they are.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
