Director Gela Babluani has decided to remake his low budget, black and white film 13: Tzameti, and a brand new trailer has arrived ahead of its US release in cinemas next month. Dropping the ‘Tzameti’ part of the title (it is Georgian for 13) the new, English language version will simply be called 13. The story follows a guy who decides to follow instructions intended for someone else, and it takes him to a mysterious and unsettling underground betting game where those involved play a brutal game of Russian Roulette while punters bet on who will survive.
The remake has an impressive cast including Ray Winstone, Jason Statham, Alexander Skarsgard, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mickey Rourke, Michael Shannon, Ray Liotta and Curits ’50 Cent’ Jackson. The trailer follows the originals synopsis:
Sebastian, a young man, has decided to follow instructions intended for someone else, without knowing where they will take him. Something else he does not know is that Gerard Dorez, a cop on a knife-edge, is tailing him. When he reaches his destination, Sebastian falls into a degenerate, clandestine world of mental chaos behind closed doors in which men gamble on the lives of others men.
