Sylvester Stallone shares some Expendables 2 cast details.

Simon West’s Expendables 2 is due to start shooting this month, and has a planned release date of August 17th 2012, however, we are still unclear as to who exactly will be starring in the film. Obviously we know that Stallone is returning, along with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger (who will both be getting more substantial roles), Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lungdren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture and (hopefully) Jet Li. However, it is still a bit of a mystery as to who will be joining the cast of the original. We know that Van Damme and Chuck Norris have been rumoured, as has Michael Biehn and Scott Adkins and even Peter ‘Robocop’ Weller. Well, Stallone recently spoke about the casting of the sequel, and had this to say:

On Van Damme: “We’ll have a big showdown between me and Van Damme, which has been anticipated for a long time, so it should be a good one.”

On Chuck Norris and Nicolas Cage: “We’ve got Chuck Norris and I think Nic Cage.”

On John Travolta: “It’s possible. The one thing I’ve learned is what is a fact on Monday is a complete fallacy on Tuesday. A lot of it is scheduling. It’s not financial. It’s just that Bulgaria is definitely a jaunt.”

And on the rest of the cast: “I like using people that had a moment and then maybe have fallen on some hard times and give them another shot. So we’re always looking for actors like Michael Biehn and Michael Pare. I like those kinds of guys. Someone did it for me and I like to see if I can do it for them. We also need some new blood in there, a Navy SEAL-type, because with the Expendables none of them have 20-20 vision anymore. They need some help, man.”

Still a bit of a mystery to be honest, but we will bring you more on this as it happens.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
