Director Benjamin Cooper has just revealed the trailer for his Bigfoot horror, Primitive. Watch the trailer for yourself at the bottom of this post, it looks very good indeed, and appears to have that monster horror charm that makes the genre so much fun to watch. Dread Central got hold of the press release:

From the Press Release
Filmmaker Benjamin Cooper is trekking to Las Vegas to premiere his monster movie, PRIMITIVE, on day two of the inaugural Black October Art & Film Invasion taking place at The Sci-Fi Center.

In this horror tale Martin Blaine, a Hollywood effects artist who makes monsters for a living, must confront his own inner demon made flesh before it destroys everyone he comes in contact with. Horror legend Reggie Bannister of the popular PHANTASM franchise plays Dr. William Stein, the hypnotist whose unorthodox therapy inadvertently conjures Martin’s Id, and effects wizard Tom Devlin (SyFy Channel’s FACE-OFF) created the creature effects.

“I contacted William Powell of The Sci-Fi Center with the intent of renting his Underground Screening Room,” Cooper said. “It’s an onsite movie theater that hosts regular screenings of b-movies, celebrity appearances, live performances and the like, mostly catering to sci-fi and horror fans like me. When he told me about Black October, I was all over it.”

According to Powell, the festival will be an entire interactive science fiction horror environment that will span 3 days and include actors, directors, special effects expos, horror art exhibits and much more. Among the attendees are b-movie goddesses Sybil Danning (GRINDHOUSE, BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS) and Tiffany Shepis (ABOMINABLE, FRANKENSTEIN SYNDROME). In tow with Cooper will be Rachel Riley (8213: GACY HOUSE), who co-stars in PRIMITIVE. She will also do Q&A for her star turn in LIZARD BOY, screening on day 3, one of many Las Vegas premieres Black October boasts.

“To premiere a picture in the entertainment capital of the world for a like-minded crowd is a genuine privilege,” said Cooper. “I worked five years to make PRIMITIVE a scary, fun good time, and that’s what you can look forward to at Black October.”

The Black October Art & Film Invasion takes place October 7th through 9th at 900 East Karen Ave. Suite D202 on the second floor of the Orleans Square inside the Commercial Center. The line-up and passes to the event are available online here.

PRIMITIVE is currently shopping for distribution. Also starring are Matt O’Neill, Kristin Lorenz (Evil Eyes), Jeff Ryan (Death Factory), and Gregory Paul Smith (Dino Wolf).

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
