Lots of news coming from the set of Resident Evil: Retribution this week, some of it good and some of it bad. Let’s start with the bad and end on a high with the good.
The bad news is that a major accident on set has injured 16 people who were portraying zombie’s. Thankfully, none of the injuries are life threatening. According to TMZ, the actors playing zombies were on a set which was on wheels. When it suddenly moved, the actors fell 20 feet to the ground. Paramedics arrived on the scene, but since the actors were in full zombie gear, they had difficulty in assessing their real injuries! The actors were taken to a local hospital and treated for arm, leg and back injuries, including some broken bones. The Toronto Police Department and Ministry of Labor are investigating.
In more happier news, Ada Wong has now been cast as Chinese actress Li Bingbing joins the cast. Bingbing will be mostly recognised for her role in The Forbidden Kingdom. Her character Ada Wong works for ‘The Organization’ and is a cunning and formidable secret agent.
Resident Evil: Retribution is directed by franchise creator Paul W.S Anderson, and features Mila Jovovih returning as Alice, whilst other names include Michelle Rodriguez as Rain Ocampo, Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine, Oded Fehr as Carlos Oliviera, Johann Urb as Leon S. Kennedy, Boris Kodjoe as Luther West and Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker.
The film is due to arrive in cinemas 14th September 2012.
