Director Shawn Levy talks Frankenstein

The director of Real Steel and Night at the Museum recently spoke with Complex about his upcoming Frankenstein movie. There are  several movie’s on the cards right now, but Fox want to get their film moving as quickly as possible as to get ahead of the game. Levy recently said the following when quizzed about the film:

It’s an amazing script, and yes, I am attached to direct it,” Levy tells the site. “That’s true, and if I can get the right pairing of two young guys, I’ll make it. It’s a radical retelling of the legend, and the reason that the casting is so critical is that, though it is still very much a monster movie and a genre piece, it really focuses on the friendship and relationship and betrayals between Victor Frankenstein and Igor, who is at once his friend and assistant, all set against this discovery of a science that might change human science forever. So if I can cast it to my liking, I will be making it. If I make it, I’m gonna make it next year.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
