Some good news arrives about the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’

Over the past year, all sorts of news has been revealed and rumoured on the long awaited adaptation of Stephen Kings Western horror story, The Dark Tower, but todays news is some of the best we’ve heard. Over the months the film has been on, then off, then on again, names attached have left, then come back and no one really knows if the film is coming or going. It does now have a budget, which ended up being too much, but producer Brian Grazer recently had this to say:

“We found a way to cut out $45 million out of the budget without changing the scope and actually giving it a good ending. In the $140 million draft, the ending wasn’t quite as satisfying. Now, we’ve got $45 million, $50 million out of the way and a really satisfying ending. It’s gonna get made.

An odd choice of words saying that with a smaller budget they are now able to get the ending right. Either way, the promise at the end of “it’s gonna get made” is a hefty one to make, and one we can only only hope does come true.

More as it develops.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
