Some new images of ‘The Avengers’ in action have appeared online, see them here!

Well, these images are ‘new-ish’ as they appeared in Entertainment Weekly last week, but when they first appeared online the quality was not very good. The images have now re-appeared, cleaned up and looking rather good, especially those with Scarlett Johansson in! Check out the images below and I’m sure you’ll agree that one of the biggest superhero film of 2012 is shaping up nicely.

The film is directed by Joss Wheddon (Serenity) and is written by both Wheddon and Zak Penn. The actor’s who have already played the supehero’s in their stand alone films also return, apart from newcomer Mark Ruffalo is Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Robert Downey Jnr is back as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Scarlett Jonasson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye (who made a small appearance in Thor), Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts. Rounding up the phenomenal cast are Stellan Skarsgard as Professor Erik Selvig and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

The film is due for release in UK cinemas 4th May 2012, but after that there is still a lot of Marvel goodness to look forward to. We already know of planned sequels for Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, but Marvel head movie chap Kevin Feige is looking at further projects. Feige has said that Edgar Wright’s Ant Man is still in development, and there is also plans of a movie based on Guardians of the Galaxy, an idea he describes as “an opportunity to do a big space epic, which THOR sort of hints at, in the cosmic side of the Marvel universe” Finally, Inhumans is also in the pipeline, a film which could see a sort of X-Men collection of characters.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
