One thing’s for sure, most of the winners are as predictable as the tides. Having said that, FIFA 11 is most definitely deserved of its accolade, as it is the greatest football game ever made.
The Ultimate Game of the Year winner is a little surprising. Not that Portal 2 doesn’t deserve that award, but surprising in that a game such as Call Of Duty 27 didn’t take the award. As the awards are voted for by gamers, it makes me happy that the majority went for such a smart, amusing and brain bending puzzle game, over the yearly franchises. There’s no question that the 3DS should pick up innovation of the year, it’s an amazing console. It’s also nice to see Sonic the Hedgehog get the outstanding contribution award. Although the more recent efforts of the speedy blue hedgehog have been somewhat lacking, you can’t deny the iconic status of Sonic. The little guy has been around for 20 years now!
Deadly Premonition was nominated for Best Action/Adventure. Some people just don’t know quality when they see it!
