Official casting news has landed for Takashi Shimizu’s haunted plane horror ‘7500’

It was mentioned last week that Amy Smart and Ryan Kwanten were in talks to star in Takashi Shimizu’s new tale of terror, 7500. The film follows passengers on a flight from LA to Tokyo who encounter a supernatural force. The Grudge director Shimizu also wrote the horror, which is being produced by Taka Ichise (The Grudge) and Roy Lee (The Departed). Here is the official press release:

Leslie Bibb (Zookeeper), Ryan Kwanten (TV’s “True Blood”) and Amy Smart (Crank) have joined the cast of 7500, a thriller directed by Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge). The film follows a group of passengers who encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while on a trans-Pacific flight.

Written by Craig Rosenberg (TV’s “Lost”), 7500 reteams Shimizu with Grudge producer Taka Ichise, who will produce alongside Roy Lee (The Ring). John Middleton and Tracy McGrath are serving as executive producers.

Kwanten and Smart will co-star as married couple Brad and Pia Martin, who board Vista Pacific Flight 7500 with their two longtime friends for a trip to Japan. Bibb is set to play Laura Baxter, a flight attendant on the trans-Pacific liner, who is involved in a complicated and secret relationship.

Amy Smart is represented by Gersh. Ryan Kwanten is represented by CAA and managed by Orly Adelson. Leslie Bibb is represented by ICM.

Senior Vice President of Production Maria Faillace and Creative Executive Ryan Conroy are overseeing the project for CBS Films.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
