When David Cronenberg announced he was planning a re-make to his own FLY film (which was also a re-make) there were gasps from every horror fan out there.  I mean why try to re-make perfection?  Then news broke that it was not a re-make but a sequel of sorts which then gave us all a curious but exciting glance towards his direction.

That was over two years ago and since then there has been no more news until last week when he was asked about the project.  ‘The Fly’ is not exactly a remake, it’s sort of a sequel, kinda,” he explained. “I’ve written a script of that, and I don’t know if that’s going to really happen, but that has to do with Fox.

So news broke that he had actually written a sequel and every horror fan rejoiced, I mean The Fly for a new generation is something we all should be happy about right?  Well not quite!  It seems in an update this week, Cronenberg has all but admitted that FOX has pulled the plug on the whole idea.

I don’t think that’s going to happen. That’s the update,” he said this week.  Why as FOX not wanted a new film?  Who knows, because everyone is staying silent over the issue but it seems that any hope of a FLY film has now been squatted

Since my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!
