Neil Marshall heading back to horror with ‘Hellfest’?

There’s not a lot to go on here, but the news that Neil Marshall could be returning to the genre that made him one of the most exciting director’s in Britain, is welcomed by all at Horror Cult Films. Marshall has given us such classics as Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Centurion and the not so great Doomsday. I love his work, really love it and after reading the following news I am now extremely curious and will be keeping my fingers crossed that this does actually happen.

Marshall is currently in negotiations with CBS films to direct Hellfest, a project CBS are hoping to launch as a franchise. Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) will produce for her own Valhalla Entertainment banner, while William Penick and Chris Sey will be on script duties. The plan is for Hellfest to go into production by Summer of next year.

Hellfest is about a costumed killer who systematically slaughters the unsuspecting visitors – who believe it’s all part of the show – on Halloween night.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
