Alex Proyas’ ‘Paradise Lost’ is no more, sad times as budget issues cancel the film

I was really really looking forward to Alex Proyas’ adaptation of the John Milton poem, Paradise Lost. The epic film had got itself a superb cast, including Bradley Cooper as Lucifer along with Dominic Purcell, Casey Affleck, Benjamin Walker, Djimon Hounsou, Rufus Sewell, Camilla Belle and Diego Boneta. Proyas himself was a superb choice of director, already creating such classics as The Crow and Dark City.

Everything was shaping up to be a dark and epic horror tale, but sadly the film has been cancelled. Budget issues meant the film had to be re-written, but it would appear that the re-writes did not work, and for now Paradise Lost will not happen. A very sad day indeed, and with the film so close the beginning production too.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
