First look at the woods for ‘The Evil Dead’ remake and the female Ash is announced!

There’s been a lot of news coming through for Fede Alvarez’s remake of Sam Raimi’s classic horror, The Evil Dead. Alvarez has shared a picture of the woods where his remake will take place, and the image shows the path through the chosen woods which will lead to THAT cabin, and the bound in flesh book of the dead.

Not only has the picture of the woods been released, but also a new cast member. A week or so ago it was announced that Lilly Collins had left the project after being named as the new female Ash character. Today it has been announced that Jane Levy (Shameless) has been in talks to take on the Ash role. Levy will be playing Mia, the central character who has just gone through an overdose.

Speaking of Ash, Bruce Campbell will be back to play a cameo, and Levy would also be joining the recently announced Shiloh Fernandez (Deadgirl, Red Riding Hood). Diablo Cody has re-written the script, and the film is aiming for a 12th April 2013 release.

‘Evil Dead’ deals with five twenty-something friends who become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
