Mary Elizabeth Winstead joins The Last Exorcism director for new haunted house spooker ‘The Darkness’

With The Thing already released, and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter due for release in a few months, it would appear Mary Elizabeth Winstead has a taste for horror which, based on her looks, is a good thing! She is about to head back into the world of scares as she joins The Last Exorcism director Daniel Stamm for a new chiller based around a haunted house.

The psychological thriller is hoping to find buyers at Berlin’s European Film Market this week, courtesy of Hanway Films. Here is a brief idea of the films plot, thanks to Dread Central:

“The project will topline Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, The Thing) as an American student looking after her tutor’s two children in a remote English manor house. She soon comes to believe that she and the children are being haunted when their lives are threatened by mysterious events”

I loved The Last Exorcism, and have been waiting patiently for Stamm’s next film, and the story to The Darkness sounds perfect for him.

More on this as it develops.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
