Oren Peli’s ‘Ghost Town Project’ gets a release date and an official title

The latest chiller to come from Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli was previously known simply as “Oren Peli’s Ghost Town Project”. However, the film has now been granted an official title, and that title is ‘The Chernobyl Diaries’. Peli  is on hand to write and produce, with Brad Parker making his directing debut. Parker previously worked as a visual effects supervisor. Brian Witten is also producing.

The release date for the chilling sounding film in the US is Memorial Day weekend this year, with Alcon releasing the film through Warner Brothers.

Probably the most recognisable star in the film is Ingrid Bolso Berdal (pictured above) who starred in the excellent Cold Prey and stars in the upcoming Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. Joining her on this spooky adventure are Jonathan Sadowski (Firday the 13th remake), Jesse McCartney, Devin Kelley, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Nathan Phillips (Wolf Creek, Snakes on a Plane) and Dimitri Diatchenko.

A group of friends become stranded in an eerie and desolate city. Years before in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster, nature has begun to reclaim everything. As the sun sets on this radioactive ghost town, inhuman cries cut through the night air. It seems they are not alone.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
