Can’t say I am overly sold on the title, Red Machine, but the actual content of this film sounds amazing. The plot couldn’t be simpler, a group of friends head off to the woods and end up attacked and stalked by a ferocious Grizzly bear. Even more promising is that the cast is not made up of the usual teenagers you would expect in horrors like this, as with the recent Liam Neeson starring film The Grey, here we get grown men having to face off against the beast.
Among the cast are Thomas Jane (The Mist), James Marsden (Straw Dogs), Billy Bob Thornton (Bad Santa, Eagle Eye), Scott Glenn (The Silence of the Lambs), Piper Perabo (The Prestige), Kelly Curran, Adam Beach and Michael McManus. The film is directed by David Hackl (Saw 5) and has been written by Rick Cleveland and J.R Reher.
Recently, star Thomas Jane took to Twitter to reveal the films first ever image, which shows him facing off against the Grizzly, and posted the comment “how I spent my birthday!” Check out the image below.
The film is currently shooting in Vancouver, and is planing a release for sometime in 2013.
“The pic centers around two estranged brothers (Marsden, Jane) who reconcile on a camping trip with their girlfriends. Once in the remote wilderness, however, things go horribly awry when they are attacked and relentlessly stalked by a horrifying grizzly bear — the Red Machine. Thornton will play a legendary bear expert and hunter.“
