Vicious new red-band trailer arrives for Christian Slater’s new supernatural shocker, ‘Playback’

One of the main draws to director Michael A. Nickles’ supernatural horror, Playback, was the fact the ever reliable and sadly under-used Christian Slater was starring in it. As I have said before, Slater’s characteristics can bring energy to any film he stars in, and he looks to attempt the same here, even though this film looks darker than anything he has ever done before. Hulu got their hands on a red band trailer for the film, and even though a lot of it is the same as the last trailer, there are new, vicious scenes in this trailer and thankfully, Slater is now not the only reason to want to see this. It actually looks very very impressive, and the lucky residents of the US will get to see the film on the 9th March. Sadly the UK still waits…

From the Press Release:
The Wagner/Cuban Company’s Magnet Releasing, genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has announced its acquisition of US rights to PLAYBACK, a frightening horror film featuring Christian Slater, directed by Michael Nickles.

While digging into their town’s infamous past, a group of high school students unwittingly unlock a dark secret, unleashing an evil spirit that takes possession of its victims. In addition to Slater, the film stars Toby Hemingway, Johnny Pacar, and Ambyr Childers.

“PLAYBACK is very scary and a lot of fun,” said Magnolia/Magnet President Eamonn Bowles. “We think it will be a hit with horror fans.”

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
