Alexandre Aja declares his ‘Undying Love’ as he prepares to take on the Vampire graphic novel

Alexandre Aja made one Hell on an impression on the horror world when he brought us Haute Tension (Switchblade Romance). Since then he has gone on to direct some superb remakes (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) and a right stinker (Mirrors). He is now involved in producing the hotly tipped remake of Maniac starring Elijah Wood, and news today is that Aja is heading back into the directors chair.

Aka is currently in discussions to direct an adaptation of the Image Comics graphic novel, Undying Love, and the synopsis sounds perfect for the Frenchman.

The story revolves around an ex-solider who falls for a vampire, though in order to be with her, he must take on her creator, who is protected by an army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld.

Michael De Luca, Stephen L’Hereux and Benderspink are producing the film, which is based on the comic created by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman.

More as it develops.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
