Burton has based this new animated feature on his 1984 short film of the same name, and the tale see’s a young Victor Frankenstein bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life. Now, obviously there are consequences, but in a classic Butonesque way, the dark is mixed with pleasant comedy. Check out the at times touching, and eventually very funny trailer below, and if you are having a bad day, this is guaranteed to brighten it up!
The film will be released by Walt Disney Pictures on 5th October, and Burton has enlisted the voice talents of a number of actors who also worked with him on The Corpse Bride. Among the names attached here are Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Atticus Shaffer, Tom Kenny and Conchata Ferrell.
A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, ‘Frankenweenie’ will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.
