No matter what film you add him to, Bill Paxton is guaranteed to make it better. One of the most liked actors on the planet, Paxton’s dry humour and almost childish like personality will always be a welcome addition to any film. Be it his comedy gold as Hudson in Aliens, Severen in Near Dark, the pathetic Simon in True Lies, his small role in Titanic, Hank in A Simple Plan, Apollo 13, and even the cheesfest but totally brilliant Twister, Paxton really adds something special. He then stunned everyone with Frailty, a film he both directed and starred in, and one of the finest examples of dark, moody horror from the past 15 years.
Now Paxton is about to bring his unique acting skills to a new horror, a horror which so far sounds pretty damned sweet! The Colony is directed by Jeff Renfroe, who also co-wrote the film with Patrick Tarr, Pascal Trottier and Svet Rouskov. Set to shoot this month, the film also stars the equally brilliant Laurence Fishburne along with Kevin Zegers. Now, here is the reason to get really excited, think of the cast, and now read the synopsis:
“The flick tells the tale of a small group of survivors living in the aftermath of a future ice age who live underground fighting for their lives in a society that disintegrates into cannibalism and violence”
