Mike Flanagan’s ‘Absentia’ celebrates its US DVD & VOD release by sharing a brand new clip

Mike Flanagan’s highly praised horror, Absentia, is a rare success. The film started off with crowd funding and was quickly picked up by Phase 4 for distribution, and the film has now had its release in the US on DVD &VOD. Word of mouth on this rather intriguing looking horror has been extremely positive, and now that the film is available in the US, we here in the UK are keeping our fingers crossed for a release date soon.

In case you are not sure what all the fuss is about, we have the original theatrical trailer and also a brand new clip right here for you to enjoy.

Flanagan not only directed, but wrote the film too, and the cast includes Katie Parker, Courtney Bell, Dave Levine and Morgan Peter Brown.

Synopsis:

Tricia’s (Bell) husband Daniel(Peter Brown) has been missing for seven years. Her younger sister Callie (Parker) comes to live with her as the pressure mounts to finally declare him ‘dead in absentia.’ As Tricia sifts through the wreckage and tries to move on with her life, Callie finds herself drawn to an ominous tunnel near the house. As she begins to link it to other mysterious disappearances, it becomes clear that Daniel’s presumed death might be anything but ‘natural.’ The ancient force at work in the tunnel might have set its sights on Callie and Tricia … and Daniel might be suffering a fate far worse than death in its grasp.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
