Ryan Gosling teams up again with Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn for new, violent thriller ‘Only God Forgives’

Drive was the best film of 2011, without a doubt, and the news that both director and star are re-teaming again is just too good to be true. Superb director Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Valhalla Rising, Bronson) will be re-uniting with his anti hero from Drive, Ryan Gosling, for a new thriller called Only God Forgives. Early word is that the film, which is currently shooting in Thailand, will be very violent.

Former Magnolia Pictures executive Tom Quinn is now running a new arm of the Weinstein Company called Radius, and it was announced a day or so ago that Radius had picked up rights to distribute the film. Winding Refn also wrote the film, which co-stars Kristin Scott Thomas. Not much else is known at this point, but boy am I excited to see what this pair can come up with next. The first image from the film was released this week, and you can see it above.

Synopsis:

Jenna demands that Julian kill The Angel of Vengeance, an act that will cost him dearly.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
