Two more lovely ladies are joining the cast of Fede Alvarez’ remake of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead. As with most remakes these days, this is more a re-imagining, which the makers have promised will be a lot darker and more violent than Raimi’s classic. Home and Away’s Elizabeth Blackmore and Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield, Friends with Benefits TV series) have both signed up to appear in the new film which see’s a group of friends head to a cabin in the woods for a getaway, and the chance to see one of the group deal with her drug addiction.
Fede Alvarez directs the remake, which has been written by Diablo Cody, Sam Raimi and Fede Alvarez. Both Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi will be producing and the film is expected to arrive 12th April 2013.
The cast already includes Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez and Lou Taylor Pucci.
Lucas will play the best friend of the girl going through withdrawal (Levy) who is also a nurse. Blackmore is playing the fiancée of Fernandez and new to the group.
